How to play the audio magazines

While it is unlikely that NTE files will contain viruses you should have installed and use a virus checker on your computer.

Listen Online

Use the links on the home page to select Media Round Up or NTE. Having done this you will be presented with a new page containing a link to subscribe to a podcast followed by a list of the magazines with the latest issue first. Click on the issue that you wish to listen to and then on the complete magazine or track that you wish to listen to.

A few seconds after you click on the link your media player will open and the magazine will start playing.

Download

Use the links on the home page to select Media Round Up or NTE. Having done this you will be presented with a new page containing a link to subscribe to a podcast followed by a list of the magazines with the latest issue first. Click on the issue that you wish to download and then the complete magazine or track that you wish to download.

After you click on the link your Internet Browser will carry out its normal download procedure. This may vary between computers but typically:

Internet Explorer will present you with a Control Panel. The Open button will allow you to listen to the magazine after download. The Save button saves the file to a folder on your computer's disc.

Firefox allows you pre-select a folder on your computer to which all downloads are automatically made. Using the Options Panel you can turn this off, in which case a Control Panel will ask you where to save the file.

Single tracks will be downloaded as mp3 files. Magazines containing more than one track will be dowloaded in a Zip file contaning a playlist and each track as a seperate file. You must extract the files from the archive before playing them. The Zip file is created by the website on the fly, this may take some time.

Subscribe to a Podcast

When using Winamp select the Media Library tab and then Podcast Directory > Subscriptions in the menu. Click the Add button. Copy and paste the link from the NTE web page into the blank field then click Add.
