The National Talking Express and Media Round Up are two monthly stereo audio magazines for the blind and visually impaired.
The National Talking Express was launched in 1979 and was the first audio magazine in the UK to be produced in stereo. It is a magazine that covers general topics relating to Visual Impairment.
Media Round Up was launched in 2004. As far as we are aware,it is the only magazine, in any medium, anywhere in the world, that reports on the many types of media, in an accessible format to individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
The majority of our members live in the UK. However, we have members throughout the world, in countries as far away as Australia and Japan.
At present the charity is urgently seeking volunteers to help with weekly public collections, mainly at tube stations in and around London. The collections take place every wednesday, either at peak travel times or all day from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm, with people taking various shifts. If you can help, please contact the office on 0207 511-8439.
Our Charity Registration Number is: 801993
Our President is the Civic Ambassador of Newham
our Patron is David "Kid" Jensen.
